Welcome to KDP Toolkit. These Terms of Use explain the scope, estimation nature, responsibilities, and limitations associated with using our free, browser-based Production & Profit Sheet. By using the tool, you acknowledge these conditions.
1. Scope & Free Browser-Only Service
KDP Toolkit is an independent, browser-based calculation utility built to assist authors and publishers with book specification planning, printing cost estimates, and royalty projections.
- Currently free: The worksheet currently has no subscription, trial period, or charge to use it.
- No accounts: There are no user accounts, logins, or saved profiles.
- No financial transactions: We do not process payments, bank information, or royalties.
2. Estimations & Amazon Rules Verification
Printing cost and royalty estimates use the published KDP rules in snapshot 2026-09-10.preview.2. Advertising break-even figures also depend on the cost and conversion assumptions you enter. This tool does not convert currencies between marketplaces.
Hardcover Geometry: Use KDP's official cover calculator to obtain hardcover dimensions and spine measurements, then enter them manually here. We do not independently verify them.
Custom Trim Limits: Page count limits and boundary rules for custom trim dimensions are not exhaustively verified across all variants.
Official Authority: Amazon KDP rules and print fees can change. Final publishing decisions, retail list prices, and cover uploads must always be verified directly within Amazon KDP's live title setup, official cover calculator, and publishing validation steps before release.
3. Non-Affiliation with Amazon or KDP
KDP Toolkit is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, maintained by, or endorsed by Amazon or Kindle Direct Publishing.
We use the Amazon and KDP names only to identify the publishing service discussed by this tool.
4. User Responsibilities & Share Link Caution
- Publishing verification: You retain sole responsibility for verifying that your final print files, interior margins, trim dimensions, and pricing adhere to Amazon KDP's official publishing guidelines before placing print orders.
- Share link security: When you generate a share link via the
#sheet=fragment, all encoded book dimensions, retail prices, and advertising figures can be inspected by anyone who has the link. You are solely responsible for keeping unannounced or sensitive commercial figures confidential.
5. Reasonable Disclaimer & Limited Liability
KDP Toolkit is provided as available. Estimates may be inaccurate or become outdated, and we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Check the current official KDP tools before relying on a result.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the maintainers are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the tool, such as lost royalties or reprinting costs.
Nothing here excludes a right or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
6. External References & Modifications
This website provides external links to official Amazon KDP documentation and resources for your convenience. We do not control or assume responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of external third-party sites.
We reserve the right to revise or update these Terms of Use as the tool evolves. Any updates will be published directly to this page with a revised revision date.
